The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

ChemicalChemical Abstracts Service Registry Number is a unique identifier for a chemical and its synonyms. CAS numbers identify the chemical, but not its concentration or specific mixture. CAS Registry Numbers are assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society. For more information: www.cas.org

We have assigned "ID numbers" (with 6 leading zeros or nines, e.g., 000000-xx-x , 888888-xx-x) or 999999-xx-x) for blends and chemicals that do not have CAS numbers. Is a seven-digit number (xxx-xxx-x) assigned by the European Commission to chemicals contained in three inventories:
EC No.
EINECS is the European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances and its EINECS numbers are displayed as 2xx-xxx-x.
ELINCS is the European List of Notified Chemical Substances that was available after September 18, 1981 and its ELINCS numbers are displayed as 4xx-xxx-x.
NLP is the No-Longer Polymers category and its NLP numbers are displayed as 5xx-xxx-xPercent of chemical in preparation.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.

Warnings
Contents under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do no store at temperatures above 120 degrees F. or use near fire or flame. This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. -
Acute health effects
From MSDS Inhalation: Mousse products contain propellants. Avoid inhalation. High concentration of propellant may cause anesthesia or anoxia. Eye Contact: CAUTION. Hair colors are eye irritants. Skin Contact: May induce an allergic skin reaction in sensitized individuals. Aerosol mousse products contain propellant. Contact with propellant may cause frostbite. Ingestion: May cause strong burning sensation. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be exaggerated by exposure to semi-permanent color products. Bronchitis may be aggravated by irritant vapors. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS The semi permanent dye products have been tested in lifetime skin painting studies on laboratory animals. No adverse effects on growth, reproduction or general health were observed. In the topical studies, other than limited effect on treated skin, no target organ toxicity was observed in respect to any organ. -
Carcinogenicity
From MSDS The semi permanent dye products contain Disperse Blue 1, which is listed by IARC in Group 2B as possibly carcinogenic to humans, and Acid Orange 3 which, when fed in extremely high doses to rats over their entire lifetime, were shown to be carcinogenic to the bladder kidneys, respectively. No such effects occurred at lower doses in the same studies. These lower doses were equivalent to a woman drinking 12 ounces of product per day in the case of Disperse Blue 1, and 268 ounces of product per day for Acid Orange 3, throughout her lifetime. These results show that these ingredients pose no carcinogenic hazard to humans under normal conditions of exposure. -
Handling information
From MSDS Aerosol mousse products are under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do not store at temperatures above 120 deg F or use near fire or flame. -
Disposal information
From MSDS Waste aerosol products covered by this MSDS are considered to be hazardous waste according to RCRA. Aerosol cans that are empty (with insignificant contents) are non-hazardous waste according to RCRA. Non-aerosol products covered by this MSDS are considered non-hazardous waste according to RCRA. Disposal should be in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
